Changzhou, China

Selecting a perfect prom dress is one of vital thing so you might attend the Prom. Firstly, you can start comparing prices at least one month before the party. In some instances, even if you plan in advance, but you may find it difficult to decide the dress you choose. In order to make it easy, you ought to think about what sort of dress will fit you perfectly concerning length. Some people want to buy beautiful and gorgeous dresses, from cocktail dresses, prom dresses and other special occasion dresses But if you thought about choosing “short” style, you ought not risk wear cocktail dresses that are too long. Here, I would like to examine some tips about how to choose length of the dress, based upon your height. The long dresses are brilliant for some formal parties. The’re elegant and feminine. Actually, the long dress is a safer selection for a prom. However, for their long length, it generates a shorter body look non-charming and sluggish. If you aren’t tall enough, the dress will outshine you. Therefore, I would suggest the long dress for medium or tall candidates. As you might think styles, there are several different types of long dresses such as the empire high waist long dresses, the sheath, or the long ball gown.Secondly, you might search for a short dress whilst you feel tired with wearing long dresses. Actually, some girls accept the long dress just because they accept the outfit code in the prom. However, the time has evolved. Short dresses are well accepted in these days because of the fact that many reliable dress designers start introducing many short prom dresses to the market in year 2000s. The short dress offers you more manageable space for your leg and foot area, even with high heels. Secondly, the short dress is perfect to all the ranges of height except very tall girls. What’s more, various styles are accessible for short dresses, like Empire waist short dress and Strapless knee length short dress.Take what I mentioned into account, You’ll can decide the length of your dresses for the prom

The little town that almost could… — Miri, Malaysia

Filed under: Health Care — Nancy @ 1:12 am -0800

Miri, Malaysia

AirAsia looks to be the cheapest option for flying in this region and although flying with a super budget airline brings pictures of old planes with no seat belts and half an engine we chose them anyway to get from KK to Miri. A practically brand new Airbus, complete with leather seats, showed us our preconceptions were well off the mark…

We arrived in Miri, the northern most city in the state of Sarawak, with little idea about what we were there to do but as it was the shortest flight from KK it seemed like a good place to start. A hugely friendly, independent “travel consultant” introduced himself to us at the airport and ended up giving us a ride into town for nearly half the normal taxi fare. Talking at a thousand miles an hour he gave us a bunch of tour options but not even the holiday photos of him riding a horse in Melbourne, from 1996, could help clinch any deals.

Although there are plenty of things to see in Miri, and we saw most of them, none were hugely enthralling – not even a place with the interesting tag line of “The first and largest crocodile farm in northern Sarawak”. Mind you the mini zoo at the crocodile farm did have a talking bird that meowed like a cat which nearly had us in tears.

So, we had seen the largest Taoist temple in South East Asia, a Chinese temple, the first oil well in Miri, a fish market, many food markets and of course the Croc farm with it’s mini zoo and yet the two most memorable things were eating schnitzel at a German restaurant and being on a bus ride that was so bumpy we could hardly eat our satay broad beans. Although it is a really nice town Miri is just missing something – there seems to be a big push for tourism kicking off at the moment so maybe we arrived a little too early or more likely quite a bit too late…

Next stop Bario, Kelabit Highlands…

Train Journey Numero 1 — Jodhpur, India

Filed under: Health Care — Nancy @ 1:12 am -0800

Jodhpur, India

Day 5 – Mumbai to Jodhpur
Today was our first long distance train. We needed to catch the train from Bandra terminus. We successfully got the suburban train to Bandra and then searched for our train, we asked for the platform and was told to leave by the other exit. After walking and search for long time in the heat with our bags and a stressed Neill we asked another ‘here to help’ desk and luckily there was someone walking past who was also going on our train. This person was Navin Patel and he was really helpful, first in going in an auto as 5 minute ride away which he then paid for and then he showed us directly to our seats. He also left us his mobile numbers incase we need any help while in Rajasthan, top bloke!

The train really surprised us (we were in 2nd class with AC) as was very clean and spacious. As the train was from 1.30pm – 6.30am the next morning, we were also provided with sheets, rug and pillow, there were the traditional Indian squat toilets at one end of the carriage and western toilets at the other end. We had both booked upper berths (2nd class is a berth of 4 beds) and a family of three had the lower berths. The family was very sweet, although Neill courteously gave up the window view for them to sleep during the day on the lower berth. There were also tons of sellers so never went hungry or thirsty. They were also selling rubix cubes!!

When Navin reached his stop he came to say goodbye and gave us gifts of an India flag badge, photo of himself and a bag – v.sweet.

Day 6 – Jodhpur
We slept intermittedly on the train (due to the movement) but good enough and arrived to Jodhpur on time! (So far on this trip have not experienced Indian time at all). When arrived was unsure what to do as was very early and actually very quiet with all shops closed (as was Sunday). We thought too early to check into the Heaven Guest House we had booked, so we walked around for a hour or so in the general direction of the hotel while also being slightly harrassed by autos. At around 8am we gave up and got auto to hotel, who announced our arrival by very loud beeps! We were v.embarrassed, but the lady owner was very lovely and took us to our room and showed us the roof terrace with view of the Mehrangarh fort.

After a quick kip we wandered the street. Although slightly more hassle than Mumbai especially around clock tower (tourist area) we have found Jodhpur to be a lot more relaxed than Mumbai. We found a lovely omlette shop owner who serves the bests omlettes ever, particularly the masala cheese omlette, and who opened his shop when he was just 11 years old. He is the first shop owner we have meet who does not pressure you to buy more but is happy to chat, and hence he is able to talk in 8 languages to all tourists who visit! Spent the rest of the day wandering the streets and looking at the shop fronts, although did get the hard fabric and spice sell a couple of times! Also Sophie had her first lassi, the Makkhaniya lassi, which is common to this area, but Sophie finds it a bit too thick and sickly as it is a yoghurt based drink.

Spent the evening in our Guest House having the best meal so far of palak (spinach) paneer, rice, naan and rajasthani curry
on the roof terrace. With a shared
Kingfisher to finish a lovely day while watching Dance India Dance on our flat
screen tv.
