Getting Help For Your Man Boobs

Gynecomastia is very common. It is seen most often in boys going through puberty or men going from middle age to old age. It is not known for certain what causes it or why some men are affected when others aren’t, but is is a hormonal problem that can be easily fixable depending on the severity of the condition. So what is this condition and how do you know if you have it?

It is when a man’s breast tissue becomes very responsive to sexual hormones and inflates. The mammary glands swell up, giving him the appearance of having breasts. It is easy to understand why this happens in adolescents and older men, since it is a time of great change in their physiques.

Since every person has certain amounts of both estrogen and testosterone, any time that is hormonally stressful may trigger these hormones. This is why some teenage girls can develop unwanted hair and why some boys develop breast tissue. This can be very noticeable and extremely embarrassing to undergo.

Not all enlarged pectorals are a result of this condition, though. Some men are over-weight and this is reflected in their whole body, including their breasts. But men can suffer from both of these conditions. So how can you tell which one you have?

If you actually have the medical problem, your pectoral area can be sensitive, since the tissue is growing rapidly and unnaturally. This happens to young girls when they get breasts and when pregnant women’s breasts begin to expand. Your nipples can be exceedingly puffy, which is another indicator. And if you are self-conscious about your weight and have been working out but nothing is changing in that area, then it is probably not an issue solved by exercise.

While ‘man boobs’ are merely fat deposits in over-weight men, gynecomastia is a glandular issue. So if your breast tissue is out of proportion with the rest of your physique or if you lose weight yet the man boobs remain, you probably have gynecomastia.

As with any medical condition, it varies from individual to individual and has several sub-groups of classification. It can be so severe it looks like elephantiasis. It can only make your nipples swollen. It can be asymmetrical and affect only one pectoral. Body builders suffer through much of this because their extreme body changes and steroid use can trigger hormonal problems. They also have problems if they decide to reduce their muscle levels and let some of their bulk go away. When the muscle goes slack, it could look like they have sagging man boobs. This is not gynecomastia.

So how do you solve it? Hormone therapy is the first step and the one which will solve most people’s problems. If it is severe, some doctors recommend radiation. For those who are clearly not going to grow out of it or who have it so severely that it is emotionally painful, liposuction may be your only way out. But make sure you know what you’re doing before you start down the plastic surgery route, because it can go one and lead to more and more problems you never had before, like severe scarring or serious medical problems.

Right now, you can get rid of man boobs. There are many ways to conceal man boobs as well. Check out Man Boobs Soluions for more information on how to loose them once and for all. Just think, wouldn’t it be great to finally kiss those suckers goodbye and take your shirt off when you are outside?
