Baghdad (ChattahBox) – Just days after officials released information about Al-Qaida’s increased use of female suicide bombers, an attack conducted by one in Baghdad has left at least 41 people dead and more than 100 injured.
The attack, which is being attributed to increasing tension as the election nears, has killed 41 Shia pilgrims who were making their religious trek for Arbaeen.
The bomber had hidden an explosive vest under her clothing as she walked in the middle of the pilgrims.
The attacker was believed to be part of a Sunni terror cell violently protesting the barring of 500 officials, many Sunni, from being allowed as candidates in the parliamentary election in March, due to ties to Saddam Hussein and his fallen regime.
