USA Today, by Judy Keen Posted By: Photoonist- Tue, 01 Feb 2011 06:18:31 GMT A monstrous, potentially historic winter storm will hammer the Plains, Midwest, South and Northeast on Tuesday with heavy snow, ice, wind and even tornadoes, leading to canceled flights, dangerous travel conditions and widespread power outages. (Snip) A foot of snow is possible along a 2,100′mile swath from the southern Plains to coastal New England, according to The Weather Channel. Just to the south of the snow, a stretch of 1,500 miles of significant ice accumulation is likely from the Ozarks to Boston.
