Buttock Implants (Buttock Augmentation)

What is buttock implants (buttock augmentation)?
Buttock implants are “stronger than breast implants” and made of an elastomer that cannot leak. Implants are placed using a small incision atop of the muscles above the sitting area and below the surrounding fascia to secure them. A previous technique of intermuscular augmentation only augmented the upper third of the buttocks whereas implants can address the entire area. The incision scar will normally heal such that it is barely visible by approximately one year after surgery. In some countries, it is permissible for buttock augmentation to be done using beads of acrylic glass that are injected in much the same way as fat obtained by liposuction.

Breast Reduction in Men (Gynecomastia)

What is breast reduction in men (gynecomastia)?
Gynecomastia, or gynaecomastia is the development of abnormally large mammary glands in males resulting in breast enlargement, which can sometimes cause secretion of milk. The term comes from the Greek gyne (stem gynaik-) meaning “woman” and mastos meaning “breast”. The condition can occur physiologically in neonates (due to female hormones from the mother), in adolescence, and in the elderly. In adolescent boys the condition is often a source of distress, but for the large majority of boys whose pubertal gynecomastia is not due to obesity, the breast development shrinks or disappears within a couple of years. The causes of common gynecomastia remain uncertain, although it has generally been attributed to an imbalance of sex hormones or the tissue responsiveness to them; a root cause is rarely determined for individual cases. Breast prominence can result from hypertrophy of breast tissue, chest adipose tissue and skin, and is typically a combination. Breast prominence due solely to excessive adipose is often termed pseudogynecomastia or sometimes lipomastia.

How to diagnosis the breast reduction in men (gynecomastia)?
The condition usually can be diagnosed by examination by a physician. Occasionally, imaging by X-rays or ultrasound is needed to confirm the diagnosis. Blood tests are required to see if there is any underlying disease causing the gynecomastia.

Treatment or suitable time on the breast reduction in men (gynecomastia):
For male breast hyperplasia, there is no need to do rush treatment. However, for the large breast, while it can not shrink after growing up or it greatly influence the physical appearance, the patients may consider surgery.

Breast Implant Removals (augmentation patients only)

Filed under: Plastic Surgery and Hair & Beauty — Tags: — Nancy @ 5:13 am -0800

What is breast implant removal?
Occasionally, women who opt for removal of large breast implants, especially those that are inserted subglandularly (on top of the muscle and under the breast glands) are left with major cosmetic deformity in their breasts if they opt to not replace the breast implants or have further cosmetic surgery. Tissue atrophy and chest wall deformity often result from breast implant removal. Breasts may also be smaller than they were before the implants because of hormone changes or weight loss. Sagging may also become more apparent after breast implant removal.

Why people go to do the breast implant removals?
The three most common reasons for breast implant removal are change of size and shape, implant leakage or rupture, and capsular contracture.
Sometimes, breast implant removal is necessary to treat problems that occur with the implants.(1) deflation or rupture (2) shifting (3) implant wrinkling (4) sagging (5) asymmetry
Other times it may be due to the body’s reaction to the implants.
Such as:bleeding, infection, diagnosis of breast cancer, the formation of scar tissue that tightens around the implant (capsular contracture), necrosis, or the formation of dead tissue around the implant, which may prevent wound healing, calcium deposits, etc.
