We thought we were going on Christmas day. That was before the British Airways strike. We now leave on Monday. Four business days of planning gone! How much foreign cash have we bought you ask, zip. Is the house clean and tidy ready for the house sitter you ask, nope. Have we finished our Christmas shopping? Have we packed our bags? Will we have time to say goodbye to all our friends? No, no and no. Are we excited? Absolutely. We’re heading off for two months, which is quite along time really. They call it a trip of a lifetime, traveling around Morocco and Europe but I hope that’s not true, I hope its just one of many trips. We don’t have many plans at the moment we’re “winging it”. We fly into London spend Christmas and New Year with my Aunt on the Isle of Wight have a couple of days in London and then Fly to Marrakech. There ends our current itinerary except for our flight home that leaves from Rome on the 17/02/2010 and a two-night stop over in Bangkok, we finally arrive back in Brisbane on the 21/02/2010. As I type this Tegan has run out to Indooroopilly to pick up a few Christmas presents and the Lonely Planet Europe on a Shoestring which will be our guide. So yeah, there’s a lot of time unaccounted for. I guess that’s where the adventure is, we’ll just go where the wind takes us, do the things we want to do and stay until we want to move on. I have wondered whether we’re even going to make it out of Morocco we may have to scramble a flight from Marrakech to Rome to meet our return flight. If that’s what we do, then that’s what we do. I guess that’s the great thing about “winging it”.
Anyway I better get a move on! There is a lot more organising to do; I just hope that if we forget something we can fix it from an internet cafe.
