Best Time for Harelip Surgery (cleft lip surgery)

Experts: harelip surgery, the sooner the better!
Doctors say that harelip is the most common congenital malformation of Oral and Maxillofacial region; however, this malformation will be looked up about 20 weeks in pregnancy, while the pregnant women may prepare according to the normal inspection procedures. Children with harelip (cleft lip) could also be corrected through surgery, the sooner surgery does the less scar will be.
The timing of harelip (cleft lip) surgery is quite important, the younger the patient is, the easier restoration he gets. Under normal circumstances, it is generally believed that children with 3-6 months old are the best time to do the harelip (cleft lip) surgery; however, in the advanced country and hospital, the surgery time has been advanced to the neonatal period.
