BBC Presenter Admits AIDS Mercy Killing

UK (ChattahBox) – BBC commentator and documentary filmmaker Ray Gosling has admitted that he once performed a ‘mercy killing’ on a former lover who had AIDS.

Gosling spoke in a recent interview “BBC East Midlands’ Inside Out Show”, and explained the circumstances behind the death.

“I killed someone, once. He was a young chap, he’d been my lover and he got Aids,” he recalled.

“In a hospital one hot afternoon, the doctor said there’s nothing we can do. He was in terrible, terrible pain.

“I said to the doctor ‘leave me just for a bit’, and he went away, and I picked up the pillow and smothered him till he was dead.

“Doctor came back and I said ‘he’s gone’. Nothing more was ever said.”

When asked if he regretted it he replied that he knew he had done the right thing, never had a single regret, and that it had been a pact he had made that the man’s family was aware of.

The interview has raised criticism about the BBC’s possible bias towards the legalization of assisted suicide, which has been illegal in the UK since 1961.

The issue of assisted suicide has recently hit the spotlight once again after a mother was acquitted in helping her adult daughter commit suicide after a long and painful illness.

Terry Pratchett, best selling author of the Discworld series, recently came out in favor of a committee for assisted suicide.
