Caribbean (ChattahBox) – A 14-year-old Dutch sailor who ran away from home after a court blocked her from taing a solo trip around the world has been found safe on St. Maarten in the Dutch Antilles.
Laura Dekker had run away from home after a Dutch court ruled that the risk of her taking a solo trip around the world on her yacht was too great.
She has originally been hoping to take the two-year sail in order to beat the record set by a 17-year-old British boy.
Police say that she has been found completely safe and healthy, and they are making plans to send her back to her father, with whom she currently lives.
